INAUGURATION: Taraba PDP Inaugurates 16 Local Government Chairmen Ahead of 2027.

The in Taraba State has inaugurated sixteen local government chairmen to coordinate and strengthen party activities across the grassroots ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremony, held at Fastrack Hotel in Jalingo, attracted party stakeholders, supporters, and loyalists from different parts of the state, who gathered to demonstrate solidarity with the state and national leadership of the party.

Speaking during the event, the Taraba State Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba Sale, urged members and supporters to remain steadfast and continue to place confidence in the party’s leadership.

 He maintained that the current national leadership of the PDP remains the only structure recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), identifying Alhaji Abdurahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary.

The state chairman stressed the importance of unity, cooperation, and constructive advice among party members, noting that such virtues were necessary for the consolidation and advancement of the party’s goals and objectives.

Abba Sale recalled that Taraba State has remained a stronghold of the PDP since 1999 and expressed optimism that the party would retain political dominance and reclaim greater national relevance in the 2027 elections due to what he described as its track record of performance and service delivery.

He further expressed confidence in the leadership capacity of the party’s national executives, assuring members that the PDP remained united and focused despite internal and external political challenges.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated chairmen, Hon. Aliyu Umar Miji pledged the commitment of the local government party leaders to work diligently toward strengthening the PDP across the state.

He thanked the party leadership and members for the confidence reposed in them, promising that the new executives would justify the trust placed in them through loyalty, dedication, and effective mobilization at the grassroots level.

The oath of office and allegiance was administered on the newly inaugurated chairmen by the party’s legal adviser.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
