2027: PDP Clears Jesse Adi, Rimamnde Shawulu, Others for National Assembly Primaries in Taraba.

The Peoples Democratic Party has cleared several aspirants seeking to contest Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections in Taraba State.

Among the notable aspirants screened and cleared by the party are Dr. Jesse Ashumate Adi for the Taraba South Senatorial District and Rimamnde Shawulu Kwetrum for the Takum/Donga/Ussa Federal Constituency.

According to the list released following the screening exercise, all aspirants who appeared before the committee were successfully cleared to participate in the primaries.

For the House of Representatives, those cleared include Muktar Usman Galadima for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, Gambo Usman Karim for Karim Lamido/Lau/Ardo-Kola, Fuoh Abel David for Sardauna/Gashaka/Kurmi, and Jonah Bakari for Ardo-Kola/Karim Lamido/Lau.

Others are Sale Emmanuel and Jibrin Muhd Maihula for Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency, Rimamnde Shawulu Kwetrum and Sule Yakubu for Takum/Donga/Ussa, Husaini Garba Maisukwali for Ardo-Kola/Lau/Karim Lamido, as well as Ibrahim Adamu Imam for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency.

For the Senate, aspirants cleared by the party include Hamma-Adama Muktar Yahya for Taraba Central Senatorial District, Hizkiah Bubajoda for Taraba North, Dr. Jesse Ashumate Adi for Taraba South, alongside Ilyasu Goje Gassol and Yusuf Bako for Taraba Central.

The clearance of the aspirants signals intensified preparations by the PDP for its primary elections as political activities gather momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle in the state.

Party stakeholders say the successful screening process reflects the PDP’s readiness to conduct competitive primaries across the various constituencies in Taraba State.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
