The lone female aspirant contesting for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Princess Leah Olusiyi Solomon, has intensified consultations with party supporters in Yorro Local Government Area ahead of the party’s primary election.
At a strategic meeting held with supporters from Sumbu A, Sumbu B and other communities in Yorro LGA, the aspirant canvassed support for her bid, assuring party faithful of inclusive and people-oriented representation if elected.
Addressing the gathering, Princess Leah Solomon said her aspiration was driven by the desire to ensure that democratic dividends reach the grassroots, stressing that effective representation must directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
She commended the people of Yorro for sustaining peace and unity in the area, noting that peaceful coexistence remains critical to development. According to her, if given the mandate to represent the constituency at the National Assembly, she would champion legislations and initiatives aimed at consolidating the relative peace being enjoyed in the area.
The APC aspirant also enlightened supporters on the provisions of the Electoral Act 2025 as amended, particularly the introduction of direct primaries, which she said was designed to give party members greater participation in the emergence of candidates.
Princess Leah stated that she was fully prepared for the APC primaries for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency race, revealing that she had successfully undergone screening at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, a development she described as a boost to her confidence and readiness for the contest.
She urged party members to remain united and committed to the ideals of the APC, while promising to provide quality representation anchored on accountability, inclusiveness and community development.
Some supporters who spoke during the meeting pledged their loyalty and support for her aspiration, arguing that women should be given greater opportunities to participate in leadership and governance.
The supporters maintained that after years of male representation, it was time for the constituency to elect a woman to the National Assembly, expressing confidence in Princess Leah Solomon’s capacity to deliver effective representation and attract development to the constituency.
