A frontline aspirant for the Lau State Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Silas Kessavo, has formally declared his intention to contest in the forthcoming elections after obtaining his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
Kessavo purchased the forms in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, in the company of a large entourage of supporters and party loyalists, signaling growing grassroots backing for his ambition.
Addressing supporters shortly after the exercise, the aspirant reaffirmed his resolve to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Lau Constituency, particularly at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for responsive and people-oriented representation that prioritizes the welfare of constituents.
Hon. Kessavo outlined key areas of focus for his legislative agenda, including strengthening access to quality education, promoting human capital development, improving healthcare delivery, and advocating for critical social infrastructure. He stressed that these sectors remain pivotal to sustainable development and improved living standards.
The PDP aspirant also pledged to champion policies and sponsor legislation that would address pressing socio-economic challenges facing the constituency, while ensuring effective oversight to attract government projects and investments to the area.
Appealing for support, Kessavo called on party faithful and the general electorate in Lau to rally behind his candidacy, assuring them of inclusive representation and transparent leadership if elected.
“I am committed to changing the narrative of our constituency by fostering peace, progress, and sustainable development. Together, we can build a better future for our people,” he said.
Widely regarded as a grassroots politician, Kessavo’s entry into the race is expected to add momentum to the political contest in Lau, as stakeholders gear up for what promises to be a keenly contested election.
