SPORTS: Jalingo 1, 2 football team plays Humanitarian Service football Cup Tournament in honour of Kefas.

Jalingo one and two local football team weekend played a humanitarian service football Cup tournament in honour of Taraba State governor,  Agbu Kefas. 


The Humanitarian Service football srevice Cup which was played at Afulahan Square in Jalingo was historic and first of its kind since assumption Office of Governor Kefas.


The football tournament which drew dignitaries from across the state and beyond was  huge success.


Speaking during the football match,  the speaker of the Taraba state House of Assembly,  Rt Hon Kizito Bonzena urged youths in Taraba state to be law abiding and committed to Kefas peace mantra. 


He noted that peace, unity and security remained  top most priority of Kefas for the people of the state. 


"As we all know,  they can be no progress in Taraba without been law abiding and adhering to constituted authorities. 


You must shun violence, avoid being used as tools of destruction, and channel your energy into productive ventures,” the Speaker said.


He tasked Taraba youths to continue to support administration enable him laid a solid foundation for growth across all sectors in the state.


He informed that  Kefas deserves continuity come 2027, nothing that all Tarabans must stand firmly and thrown their weight behind him.


"He has shown capacity, compassion, and commitment, let us support him to continue the good work" he hinted.


In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government, Traditions and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Godfrey Dame assured that governor Kefas would get full support from all 16 LGA areas of the state come 2027.


Dame who  described Kefas as a true  leader highlighted that he genuinely cares about the welfare of all Tarabans. 


"Governor Kefes has done so much for us, from  education to healthcare, infrastructure and security" he added. 


On his part,  the co-host of the Kefas football tournament,  Alhaji Muhammed Jungudo applauded the Speaker of the Taraba state House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon Kizito Bonzena, Secretary to Government of Taraba State (SGS) Barr GT Kataps, Royal Fathers among others who graced  the Humanitarian Service Cup Final.

“We are deeply humbled by the calibre of personalities who took time out of  their busy schedules to  witness this football tournament. 


This event is in honour to our dependable Governor,  Dr Agbu Kefas who has dedicated his life to service  the people of the state. 


 He stressed  that the primary goal of the competition was to unite Tarabans  and rally support for his second term bid re-election.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
