EDUCATION:Taraba Nursing College Appreciates Stakeholders Over Successful Matriculation Ceremony.

The Management of Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Jalingo, has extended heartfelt appreciation to individuals and organizations that contributed to the success of its 4th Joint Matriculation Ceremony held on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

In a statement signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Gideon David Jimenda, the college described the ceremony as a remarkable milestone made possible through the collective support and goodwill of key stakeholders.

The statement particularly commended the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his sustained commitment to advancing education and healthcare delivery in the state.

The college also expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education,Dr Mike Dio Jen,the Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Tukura  and the institution’s Governing Council for their pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the event.

Acknowledging the presence and solidarity of sister institutions, the management appreciated Beulah College of Nursing Sciences, Ideal College of Nursing Sciences, and Lakeview College of Education for their participation, noting that their support added value and prestige to the ceremony.

The statement further recognized the contributions of distinguished guests, stakeholders, parents, guardians, and well-wishers, whose attendance and encouragement were said to have enhanced the success and color of the occasion.

Commendation was also extended to the organizing committee and members of staff for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment, which ensured a seamless event. The matriculating students were equally praised for their discipline, enthusiasm, and cooperation throughout the ceremony.

The management reaffirmed its commitment to training competent healthcare professionals and appreciated partners and supporters whose contributions continue to drive the growth and development of the institution.

It expressed optimism for sustained collaboration in future endeavors, while thanking all those who played a role in the successful hosting of the ceremony.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
