EASTER: NANNM Felicitates Gov. Kefas, Tarabans at Easter, Calls for Unity and Renewed Faith.

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Taraba State Council, has extended warm Easter greetings to Governor , his deputy , and Christians across the state, urging reflection on the core values of the season.

In a press statement issued by the State Chairman, Comrade Pius Nathaniel Merigi the association congratulated key government officials, including the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, , members of the legislature, the State Executive Council, and other stakeholders, for witnessing another Easter celebration.

Merigi described Easter as a period that embodies love, sacrifice, forgiveness, humility, and unwavering devotion, urging Christians to reflect on these virtues and demonstrate them in their daily lives in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

He called on the Christian faithful to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Taraba State, emphasizing that collective prayers and responsible actions remain critical to societal progress.

The NANNM chairman also commended Governor Kefas for what he described as purposeful and people-oriented leadership, particularly in efforts to improve citizens’ welfare and strengthen healthcare services across the state.

He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting government initiatives aimed at enhancing quality healthcare delivery, while promoting the overall well-being of residents.

Merigi further wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, expressing hope that the season would usher in renewed strength, hope, and prosperity for all.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
