EASTER: Hon.Balanko Felicitates Kefas, Tarabans on Easter, Calls for Unity.

JALINGO — An aspirant for the Ardo Kola, Karim Lamido and Lau Federal Constituency, Hon. Elder Ayuba Jediel Balanko, has extended Easter greetings to Gov. Agbu Kefas ,his deputy , Alh Aminu Abdullahi Alkali members of the State Executive Council, and the people of Taraba State.

In a press statement issued to mark the Easter celebration,Hon. Balanko described the season as a reflection of God’s love for humanity, demonstrated through the sacrifice and resurrection of . He noted that the period provides an opportunity for spiritual renewal and a recommitment to values such as faith, unity and selfless service.

The federal constituency hopeful urged Christians to sustain the virtues of the Lenten season, emphasizing the need for lives anchored on sacrifice, humility, compassion and dedication to service. According to him, these values are essential for fostering harmony and development in society.

Balanko also called on residents of the constituency and the state to embrace peace, tolerance and mutual respect, stressing that unity remains vital for sustainable development. He encouraged citizens to use the Easter period to strengthen communal bonds and promote collective progress.

Speaking on his ambition to represent the constituency at the National Assembly, he reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective and people-oriented representation. He pledged to focus on quality legislation, attract development projects and ensure fair distribution of democratic dividends across the three local government areas.

He further assured constituents of his readiness to serve with integrity, transparency and accountability, noting that his aspiration is driven by a desire to improve living standards and advance grassroots development.

Balanko wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter, praying for renewed hope, prosperity and unity in Taraba State and the country at large.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
