Hon. Aishat Barde Leads Delegation to Console Family of Late Perm Sec Patricia Dana in Jalingo..

The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change in , Hon. Aishat A. Barde, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Patricia Dana, describing her death as a monumental loss to the state public service and the Mumuye nation.

Hon. Barde, who led a delegation to the deceased’s residence in , expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the seasoned administrator, noting that her demise has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

Addressing members of the bereaved family, friends and sympathisers who gathered to receive her, the Commissioner urged them to take solace in God, emphasising that only the Almighty gives and takes life according to His divine will. She encouraged the family to remain united and uphold the legacies of integrity, diligence and service left behind by the late civil servant.

According to Hon. Barde, the late Patricia Dana was not just a top-ranking official but a committed and dependable public servant whose services were still greatly needed in the government of . She described the deceased as a dedicated career officer who contributed immensely to policy coordination, administrative reforms and human resource development within the state civil service.

“She was a mother to many, a mentor to young officers and a role model whose life exemplified humility, discipline and selfless service,” the Commissioner said. “Her wealth of experience and fatherly counsel will be sorely missed at this critical time in our state’s development.”

Hon. Barde, who holds the traditional title of Zinariyar Mumuyawa, also lamented the impact of the loss on the Mumuye nation, noting that the deceased was a shining light and an advocate for the progress and unity of her people. She stated that the Mumuye community has indeed lost a rare gem whose contributions transcended ethnic and professional boundaries.

The Commissioner further prayed for God to grant the immediate family, friends, colleagues and the entire Mumuye nation the fortitude to bear what she described as an irreparable loss. She also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.

Mrs. Patricia Dana, until her death, served as Permanent Secretary and was widely respected for her professionalism, administrative acumen and commitment to excellence in public service. 

Tributes have continued to pour in from government officials, civil servants and community leaders across the state, all attesting to her impactful life and enduring legacy.

 Similarly, the Chairman of Zing Local Government Council, Prince Evangelist Davoro Titus Gwandis, JP, paid a condolence visit to the residence of the late Mrs. Patricia Dana to sympathize with her family.

He was accompanied by his counterpart from Ardo Kola Local Government Council, Hon. Umar Bello Badawaire, as both council leaders joined other sympathizers in mourning the respected Permanent Secretary.

During the visit, Prince Gwandis expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and urged them, as well as other mourners, to take solace in God, noting that He alone gives and takes life according to His will.


The Chairman stated that the passing of Mrs. Dana has created a significant vacuum in the state’s public service, one that will be difficult to fill considering her wealth of experience and commitment to duty. He described her as a patriotic citizen, a caring mother, and a role model whose life was marked by integrity and exemplary character.

Hon. Gwandis further remarked that the late Mrs. Dana would be remembered for her humility, dedication, and positive impact on those who worked closely with her. He  prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asking God to grant her family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
