CHRISTMAS: ALGON Chairman Felicitates Governor Kefas, Christians on Christmas.

Jalingo, December 21, 2025

The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Taraba State Chapter, Hon. Moses Maihankali, has extended warm Christmas greetings to the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, and Christians across the state as they celebrate the 2025 Christmas season.

In a Christmas message made available to newsmen in Jalingo on Sunday, Maihankali also congratulated the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps; the Head of Service; members of the Taraba State House of Assembly; commissioners; permanent secretaries; and traditional rulers for their collective roles in sustaining peace, stability, and development in the state.

The ALGON chairman commended Governor Kefas for what he described as his sterling, people-oriented leadership, noting that the administration has continued to demonstrate commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development.

He called on residents of the state to continue to support the present administration to enable it successfully deliver on its developmental agenda, particularly at the local government level where governance has a direct impact on the people.

Maihankali reminded Christians that Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, is a season that emphasizes love, sacrifice, and compassion. He urged them to use the festive period to reach out to the less privileged, the sick, and the downtrodden in society.

According to him, the yuletide should also serve as a time for sober reflection, renewed faith, and strengthened unity, as Christians promote the values of peace, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among all residents of the state.

The ALGON chairman further appealed for peaceful celebrations across Taraba State and advised residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious in the interest of collective safety.

He wished Christians in the state a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.

The echoes of those past crises are now knock...
