The Rector of Taraba State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Jalingo, Yakubu Ali Garjila, has commended Governor Agbu Kefas for prioritizing the development of the institution since assuming office.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo, Garjila said the governor’s intervention has already translated into visible progress, including the ongoing construction of a lecture hall as well as male and female hostels.
He noted that the projects, when completed, will go a long way in easing the accommodation challenges faced by students.
The rector further urged Tarabans to continue supporting and praying for the governor’s success rather than resorting to criticism, stressing that his vision is aimed at building a better state. He also credited the governor’s efforts for the college’s recent access to Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) support, which will soon enable some lecturers to undergo skills development training.
Some students of the college also expressed appreciation for the state government’s commitment to improving their learning environment. The President and Secretary-General of the Students Union Government (SUG), Daphee Stephen and Abubakar Galadima said the construction of hostels and lecture halls was a welcome development.
They, however, appealed to the government to ensure speedy completion of the projects to provide students with a more conducive atmosphere for academic activities.
