Plateau Government Reaffirms Commitment to Security, Economic Growth, and Citizen-Friendly Policies.



The Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, mni, has assured citizens of the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening security, boosting economic activities, and implementing people-centered policies for the development of the State.

Speaking during a live program on Dr. Fish FM 90.1, Ramnap emphasized the need for the establishment of State Police as a viable solution to the unique security challenges facing Plateau communities. She said while the government continues to collaborate with federal security agencies, it is also prioritizing strategies that will bring security closer to the grassroots.

Highlighting efforts in the transport sector, the Commissioner disclosed that the administration is investing in infrastructure and services to ease the movement of goods and people. According to her, improved transport systems are critical for opening up markets, creating jobs, and supporting business growth. She noted that the ongoing train services in the State are part of deliberate steps to enhance the movement of goods and services.

On land administration, Ramnap underscored the importance of land registration in promoting orderliness, reducing disputes, and enabling access to credit facilities. She announced that the State Government has approved a 50 percent discount on land registration fees to encourage citizens to formalize their land titles.

Reiterating the administration’s resolve to safeguard lives and property, Ramnap said ongoing measures include deployment of security personnel, increased community vigilance, and consistent engagement with stakeholders to prevent violence and criminal activities.

She urged Plateau citizens to support government initiatives by embracing reforms in the transport and land sectors, while cooperating with security agencies to sustain peace and stability across the State.
