The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has called on Christians to embrace the transformative “fire” of the Gospel and remain steadfast in faith, even in the face of challenges.
Delivering his Sunday reflection on August 17, 2025, Fr. Muke drew from the Gospel of Luke 12:49–53, where Christ declared: “I have come to bring fire on the earth.” He explained that the fire represents the power of the Gospel, which cleanses hearts, renews lives, and calls believers to total commitment.
According to him, this commitment often demands sacrifice and may sometimes bring division within families and communities, but it ultimately establishes peace rooted in truth, justice, and love.
“This fire must inspire us to live as true witnesses of Christ,” Fr. Muke said. “We are called to shine as beacons of His light, not only in our families and communities but also in Taraba State and beyond.”
The cleric also offered special prayers for farmers across the state, asking God to grant them a fruitful farming season and bless their labour with abundant harvests.
He urged Christians to remain firm in faith and allow the Gospel to shape their lives, assuring that such conviction would foster both spiritual renewal and societal peace.
