YOWICAN Chairman Northeast Zone Evangelist Ephesians Jesse commends Gov Kefas on his second anniversary.


The Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria YOWICAN Northeast Zone Evangelist Ephesians Jesse has applauded Governor Agbu Kefas for championing the course to develop Taraba State.

The Chairman in a statement congratulated the Governor for clocking the second anniversary in office.

The YOWICAN Chairman highlighted the Governor's feats in the area of education, health, agriculture, security and human development as commendable.


Evangelist Ephesians remarked that in the education sector,the declaration of free and Compulsory Primary and Secondary School education in Taraba led to surge in number of pupils and students enrollment into the public schools as the slashing of tuition fees by 50% also lessen the burden of many families.


He recalled that in the past,the state of insecurity was so alarming, affirming the Governor Dr Agbu Kefas security initiative has led to enjoyment of relative peace and unity in nooks and crannies of the State.


The Chairman also applauded the inclusive governance of the Governor as vibrant Youths were appointed as aides into his cabinet,given them a sense of belonging in the society.

Jesse also lauded the Governor's cabinet members, traditional, religious and opinion leaders for being supportive to the present government in the state,and sued for continues support in more years to come.


He however reminded the Governor not to be deterred by what people may say, encouraging him to accept critical criticism to enable him perform maximally.

The YOWICAN Chairman also appreciated Tarabans for the support and urged them to continue in that light for a better state.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area. He remarked that the Seminary established in 1946 by the United Methodist Church agencies and donors has been manned by the church and has continued to fund the Seminary that has trained many clergy of the UMC, including him.
