GOC 3 DIVISION VISITS 23 BRIGADE, PLEDGES SUPPORT TO ERADICATE TERRORISM IN ADAMAWA STATE.


The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, has urged troops of the 23 Brigade to intensify their efforts in the fight against terrorism and ensure the complete eradication of criminal elements in Adamawa State. 
The GOC issued this charge during his inaugural operational visit to the 23 Brigade Headquarters at Gibson Jallo Cantonment, Yola.

Addressing the troops at the parade ground, Major General Oyinlola praised the officers and soldiers for their unwavering commitment, which has contributed to the relative peace experienced in the state. He reminded them of their constitutional duty to safeguard the lives and property of citizens, emphasizing the importance of discipline as a cornerstone of the Nigerian Army's values.

Upon arrival, the GOC was received by the Commander of 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, who conducted the GOC for a regimental inspection and introduced the brigade's officers. Brigadier General Zawaya later presented an operational briefing, outlining the brigade's activities, achievements, and challenges. He expressed gratitude to the GOC for his visit and expressed confidence that the division would address the brigade's challenges promptly.

In his remarks, Major General Oyinlola commended the brigade commander and his team for maintaining security in the state. He stressed the importance of prioritizing troop welfare and assured the brigade of the division's continued logistical support and resources to enhance operational efficiency. The GOC also promised to escalate issues beyond the division's capacity to the Army Headquarters for resolution.

Following a guided tour of the cantonment and an inspection of ongoing projects, the GOC visited the Adamawa State Government House, where he paid a courtesy call on Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri. During the meeting, Major General Oyinlola commended the governor for his consistent support to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, attributing the state's relative peace to the governor's dedication to security and development. 
He also sought the governor’s continued support, stating, “Addressing insecurity requires the collaboration of all stakeholders in the state.”

In response, Governor Fintiri welcomed the GOC to the state and praised the Nigerian Army for its efforts in maintaining peace. He expressed confidence in the GOC's leadership, stating, "Given your track record, I am certain that insecurity in Adamawa will soon be a thing of the past." The governor also assured the GOC of his administration’s continued support to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, adding, “Security is not the responsibility of the military alone but requires the participation of all stakeholders in the state.”

The visit featured several activities, including a regimental inspection, operational briefing, souvenir presentations, and interactions with officers and troops. The GOC's visit underscored the Nigerian Army's commitment to collaboration with state authorities in the fight against terrorism and the promotion of peace in Adamawa State.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
