DISASTER: 22 Houses razed by wildfire in Garin Mazang of Bali LGA

A wildfire has razed Garin Mazang Village in Bali local government area destroying houses and food stuffs.

The Locals were caught unawares by the surging fire which destroyed the village completely on Thursday, January 23rd,2025 at 2pm.

Many only scrabble for safety as the gravity of the surging fire couldn't allow them to pick up their belongings when they noticed that their houses were on fire.

Clergy with the United Methodist Church, Southern Conference, Ishaku Haruna posted pictures of the affected village.

From the pictures, one could see how thatch houses were consumed by the fire and the debris of grains and clothes picked from the scenes.

This horrible incident has left the villagers hopeless, as many don't have a place to sleep or food to eat.

When contacted the Resident Pastor of the United Methodist church Garin Mazang,Ishaku Haruna confirmed that twenty two houses were destroyed by the fire.

Pastor Haruna said those affected are taking refuge at Church and neighboring villages.

The Clergyman appealed to the Taraba State Government through the Ministry of Humanitarian and Regional Services to come to aid of the victims.

Findings showed that this was the first time the villagers experienced this horrible incident.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
