LADOH WINLAU 2024: Hon Peter Julius Vau stresses the need to give children native names, teach mother tongue.

The Ladoh Winlau twenty twenty four festival held yesterday in Lau town spoke true representation of the Jukuniod in Northern part of Taraba State.

An event that brought together Winlau sons and daughters across the country and diaspora commemorate a period of reawakening consciences of kinsmen to promote their culture.

The event was set motional by the Chief Priest of Winlau Nechua Mamda through an opening prayers and a message where he blessed his subjects and sought for God's protection.

Addressing the crowd the Acting Chairman National Winlau Development Association Hon. Peter Julius Vau stressed the need for Tarabans to give their children native names.

He said the call aims to promoting mother tongue as well as to avert extinction of local dialect.

Honorable Peter Vau who is the Commissioner of Ministry of Rural Development urged Winlau sons and daughters to teach their children how to speak the language. 

He remarked that the event was also to exposed the younger generation about the history of the Winlau, tradition and culture.

On his part the National President Bakula Kwararafa Community Development Association Hon. Sunday Yusuf Tonga called on Ethnic group that form the Bakula to unite to promote their culture.

Sunday revealed that in the first quarter of twenty twenty five would hold a mega Traditional festival in Lau to strengthen their bonds as a nation.

The President commended the two Winlau sons who published books,an introduction to Winlau Culture and the History of Winlau and their Neighbors for the giant strides.
He commended the unity among the Winlau sons and daughters and sued for its sustenance in the interest of progress.

One of the authors,a Veteran Journalist in Taraba State Mr Bakoji Sukuji said the book he authored spelled out the genuine history of Winlau.

The event featured wrestling, Drumming, dances, quizzes,and book launch and as well as the election of new Shinwo (Prince) and Shingwa(Princes).

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
