Crime: NSCDC TARABA COMMAND PARADES 3 FOR THEFT.


   The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command has today paraded three persons for stealing 170 pieces of iron rods worth over #1.5 million from a construction site at the Danbaba Danfulani Suntai Airport Jalingo. 
The parading took place at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Jalingo.
   Parading the Suspects, the Public Relations Officer of the Command CSC ILIYA SAMAILA said vandalization and theft were fast become a menace in the state which prompted the State Commandant Anthony Bala Bitrus to order a clamp down on such nefarious activities.
 He said the clamp down directive has yielded results as the Corps in Taraba has apprehended over ten persons in the month of December alone.
   Speaking further, the PRO said the three persons paraded were arrested at ATC a suburb of Jalingo the state capital yesterday at around 8:00 pm in possession of One Hundred and Seventy (170) 12mm/10mm iron rods belonging to a Chinese company called CCECC which is handling the expansion project at the Danbaba Danfulani Suntai Airport Jalingo. The arrest was made possible through collaboration with the Nigerian Airforce.
   The prime suspect, Shoki Shuaibu (32) explained to newsmen that he started stealing the rods in November and hiding them away until he was ready to move them yesterday. 
It was in the process of moving them with his accomplices Shumen Chrisantus (21) and Sombo Luka (24) that luck ran out on them and they were apprehended.
   Commandant Anthony speaking through the PRO of the Command warned all miscreant to stay clear of Taraba as all efforts are in place to ensure that lives and properties of the citizens of Taraba are adequately protected. 
He called on all Tarabans to share useful information to security agencies as that will help them In carrying out their responsibility of protecting lives and properties more effectively.
   The PRO assured newsmen that the three suspects have confessed to having committed thewithaid crime and will be immediately charged in Court to face the consequences of their crimes.
