REVENUE: CSO asked the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service to consider sharing formulas in the Harmonisation Tax Reforms.

State lead Taraba Tax Justice and Governance Platform Comrade Nashuka Fidelis has appealed to Taraba State Internal Revenue Service to prioritize sharing formula for LGAs at its work to harmonise Taxes.

Comrade Nashuka Fidelis said this when he led other members of the organization on a courtesy visit to Chairman Taraba State Internal Revenue Service Retired General Jeremiah Faransa in Jalingo.

He told the Chairman that if that is done the local government Council will receive their shares of the accrued revenue for execution of tangible projects at the grassroots.

He lauded the effort of the board to harmonize Taxes stressing that it will block leakages and as well as make the process transparent.

Nashuka Fidelis remarked that from the CSOs findings,the Chairman has fared well in boosting the revenue generation of the State within his short stay in office.

The State lead advocates the engagement of all stakeholders in the decision-making process for the actualisation of the harmonised tax policy in Taraba State.

Responding,the Chairman of Taraba State Internal Revenue Service Retired General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa commended the initiative of the organisation and pledged for partnership to achieve lofty results in the state.

He lamented that in the past, there were leakages in the revenue generation process as money generated went to private pockets.

He reiterated the determination of his team to ensure that the right thing was done to change the narrative of the State.

Faransa urged the CSO to always avail itself for engagements to chat out ways Tax Harmonisation Reforms will be successful in Taraba State.

During the visit a framework designed by the Taraba Tax Justice and Governance Platform was presented to the Chairman by the State lead Comrade Nashuka Fidelis.
