INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION: COMMANDANT NSCDC TARABA COMMAND REASSURES NEW SDS OF NSCDC'S COOPERATION WITH THE DSS IN TARABA STATE.

The Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command Adamu Salihu has reassured the new State Director Security Services, Taraba State Command of his command's willingness to collaborate with the service in safeguarding lives and properties in the state. The Commandant made the declaration today when he received the newly posted State Director Security (SDS) Taraba State Command Mr V.O Edet fsi on a courtesy call at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Jalingo. This is contained in a press statement signed by the Command's Spokesman SC Iliya Samaila and issued to Jalingo Times. The statement quoted the new State Director during the courtesy call saying that he was at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters to familiarise himself and his team with the command's management and workforce for effective synergy. MR Edet explained that no security agency is capable of handling all the security challenges, hence, the need for a more robust synergy among security agencies. The SDS also emphasized that the leadership of the two agencies must work on conflict resolution to ensure healthy working relationships among officers and men of the lower cadre. Responding, Commandant NSCDC Taraba State Command Adamu Salihu who was visibly elated by the visit, assured the Director of enhanced working relationship between the two agencies in ensuring peace and order in the state. Commandant Adamu thanked the SDS and his entourage for the visit and wished him success in his official endeavours.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area. He remarked that the Seminary established in 1946 by the United Methodist Church agencies and donors has been manned by the church and has continued to fund the Seminary that has trained many clergy of the UMC, including him.
