WATER SECTOR: Jalingo Five million litres water reservoir contractors working to meet the deadline in August- MD Engr.Siam.

The Managing Director of Taraba State Water and Sewerage Corporation TAWASCO, Engineer Buba Musa Siam says contractors are working hard to complete the five Million litres multi-purpose water reservoir in Jalingo.
The MD gave the assurance while speaking in an interview with our reporter in Jalingo.
Engineer Buba Siam maintained that the contractors are putting more effort into ensuring that they complete the water project before the August dateline given to them by Governor Agbu Kefas elapses.
He explained that the water reservoir project is at the stage of installation of mechanical and electrical equipment such as water pumps and meters among others.
Siam expressed hope that if completed the water reservoir will improve water supply to customers within the Jalingo metropolis.
The MD commended the commitment of the contractor handling the Water Project to the quality job which was described as the best.
It could be recalled that the five million litre water reservoir was inaugurated by the

State government in twenty-twenty to address water scarcity in the state capital.
The move was to reposition the water and sanitation sector towards improving access to water and sanitation services.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area.
