STATE OF THE NATION: Taraba Ex-Gov Nyame warns the Yorro Community not to join the planned nationwide protest.


The Former Governor of Taraba State Reverend Jolly Nyame has warned the people of the Yorro Community not to join the Planned National protest.
The former Governor made the call during a press briefing at the Catholic Pastoral Centre Mile Six Jalingo.
Jolly Nyame said the planned Protest was not for the good of Nigeria urging the people not to join but he asked the government to provide means of making life bearable for the masses.
According to him, the protest can only worsen the situation and endanger the lives of thousands of people.
While admitting that there are glaring shortages of all the basic things people need for survival, such as food, education, and healthcare facilities said the language employed by the planners of the Protest was threatening, divisive, and aimed at removing a democratically elected Government.
Nyame said that given certain policies and long-standing national issues, the government should take the blame for some of the problems affecting the nation and provide a viable solution.
He said the Yorro Community is a peaceful and hardworking nation, soliciting that the Government should provide farm implements such as tractors, fertilizer, and chemicals as well as security to enable farmers who cultivate the largest number of Yam and other food crops in Nigeria to boost their production.
Reverend Jolly Nyame was quoted saying " We have no time to waste in a National protest that can only promote destruction, anarchy and loss of Simply said as a peaceful and law-abiding Community, the Yorro Nation should not join the so-called Nationwide protest against the Government for our good and safety of the communities ".
The Dabang Yorro called for the replanning and reorganisation of the Yorro Community's political interest in Taraba and Adamawa States adding that there is the need shortly to set up a political committee to achieve the desired goals.
The President of Mumuye Cultural Development Association Youth Wing, Comrade Ezekiel Augustine HammanGabdo appreciated the Former Governor for his foresight and proper guidance of Youths in the Yorro Community.
On his part, the President of Yandang Youths Development Congress, Comrade Yeri Akila said the Youth in Yorro Community will heed to the fatherly advice given by the former who he said they hold in high esteem not to join the planned Protest.
