UNION: AUPTRE Northeast Council organises educational training for Taraba workers in Jalingo.

An educational training workshop for members of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical, and Recreational Services Employees, AUPCTRE has been held in Jalingo.
The educational workshop with the theme,' Building AUPCTRE members' consciousness for policy engagement 'had in attendance members of the union across the Northeast zone of the country.

Speaking during the workshop, the Taraba state Head of civil service Paul Maigida Tino commended the AUPCTRE for organizing the work.
The Head of service who was represented by the Director Establishment, Naomi Aman urged participants to make good use of the knowledge gained during the workshop for efficiency at work.

In his remarks, the Zonal chairperson of AUPCTRE, Garba Dogo Sheegay said the objective of the workshop is to educate workers on the need for effective performance.

Earlier in her address, the Taraba state chairperson of AUPCTRE  Comrade Mary Francis  Mandal stressed the need for government to address the challenges of unemployment, job insecurity, high cost of living, and poverty rate in the country.

She called on President B Ahmed Bola Tinubu to as a matter of urgency implement the two hundred and fifty thousand naira national minimum wage proposal submitted by organized labour to put a smile on the faces of Nigerian workers.
 Comrade Mary Francis appreciated the Taraba state Governor Agbu Kefas for the prompt payment of monthly salaries, monthly pension,/gratuity, implementation of thirty thousand naira minimum wage for workers in Taraba State, and distribution of palliatives among others.

She however reminded the Governor Dr Agbu Kefas that workers of Taraba State are yet to enjoy the wage Award as other states of the country enjoyed, adding that promotion implementation as well as yearly increments have not also been enjoyed appealing that he should look into it to address it.

She expressed the hope that the training will impact more knowledge on workers for effective productivity and also to address some challenges in the civil service.

In a Paper presentation on the Constitution of the Union, Comrade Aliyu Muhammad described the Union's constitution as a guiding principle that helps members excel in their duties.
Aliyu Muhammad explained that the lack of obeying the union constitution brings conflict and disunity among union members.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
