Parents and guardians in Taraba State have been commended for enrolling their children on Public schools.
Commissioner Ministry of Social Justice and Reinterpretation Hon Dr Filister Irarimam Musa made the commendation in an interview with our reporter in her office in Jalingo.
The Commissioner said the action of the parents and guardians demonstrated their love for the education of their children.
According to her, following the implementation of the Free Education policy in Taraba State, several pupils and Students in public schools soar higher.
Dr Filister Musa said the policy would take many children of school age off the streets in the state, making the future of Taraba bright.
Filister Musa remarked that the action of the governor to slash the tuition fees for students at the tertiary institutions, such as colleges, polytechnic and State University is a clear demonstration of justice to all seeking education.
She added that people with special needs especially Schools in Taraba State are equally benefactors of the free education policy.
The Commissioner, however, encouraged parents who are yet to get their children enrolled on School to do so even as they have the right to free education in the state.
Dr Filister said the ministry in its quest to ensure the rights of children are not violated will soon embark on an awareness campaign to encourage parents and guardians to give their children the chance to acquire Western education.
