Association: National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM Taraba State Chapter organises induction training for unit leaders in Jalingo.













Leaders of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives,      NANNM at unit Branches in Taraba State have asked to work towards the progress of the association.
This formed the central message of the two-day stepdown Induction training for State Executive Council SEC members at the Nurse's House Jalingo.
Delivering a paper on the History of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM, the National Auditor-one, Comrd David Nanushi Tsokwa said leaders should strive to know the history of the association and its journey so far.
Tsokwa remarked that as leaders they all have critical roles to play by contributing positively during their period in office.
He warned that they should shun all forms of segregation among them just as contained in their professional ethics of operations.
Nanushi Tsokwa reminded them of the roles played by some former leaders of the association such as Adelami Moses Olabode, Yahaya Aji and Kade Oyedepo whose efforts led to the existence of the Association.
He encouraged them to also make a positive impact that the coming generation will remember them for in the association.
Earlier, the Chairman National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM Taraba State Chapter, Comrade Pius Merigi Nathaniel said the training is aimed at educating leaders of the Association at unit branches to know their statutory duties.
He reminded them that training is a stepdown initiative urging the participants to replicate the same at their Local levels in the interest of the growth of the association.
Assistant Secretary General of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM Bauchi State Chapter, Comrade Yila Jeptha Esla in his presentation asked members of the association to read the constitution to guide them.
He reminded them that the Constitution serves as a guide to every nation, State, union and Associations stressing that members should strive to learn it in the interest of progress.
Yila Jeptha Esla enjoined unit branch officials to be a vanguard of change by teaching other members the Association's do's and don'ts.
The Chairperson of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM Taraba State Chapter Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo unit, Comrade Bilha Yusuf Fyem Salami in an interview said the training is a reawakening call for nurses to be professional in the discharge of their duties.
In his part, the Unit Chairman of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM Taraba State Specialist Hospital Jalingo, Comrade John Adamu appreciated the State Council for organizing the training describing it as an eye-opener.
In his comment, the Unit Secretary of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives NANNM General Hospital Wukari  Comrade Girgir Gideon said the training has been impactful saying that they will ensure stepping it down to members at the local levels.
Jalingo Times reported that leaders from the nineteen unit branches of the association in Taraba State attended the induction.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area.
