One Year in Office: Provost of Taraba State College of Nursing, Science and Midwifery Jalingo Esther Gana lauds Governor Agbu Kefas's infrastructure drive.

 Taraba State Governor Doctor Agbu Kefas has been applauded for prioritizing the transformation of the College of Nursing Science and Midwifery Jalingo.
Provost of the College of Nursing Science and Midwifery Jalingo Esther Gana made the commendation while commenting on the first anniversary of Governor Agbu Kefas in office.
Esther Gana said the Governor upon assumption of duties, his first point of visit last year was the College's abandoned projects and award of contract for its renovation.
The Provost remarked that the gesture demonstrated that the Governor was passionate about the state of the institution and his desire to ensure that it regained its lost glory to produce qualified nurses and Midwives.
According to her, the institution within the first anniversary of the Governor held its first convocation and Matriculation saying the event was memorable.
Esther Gana revealed that it was also the present government's effort that led to the accreditation of the College to now run the National Diploma ND and Higher National Diploma HND programs in Nursing as the first set of students will be admitted in September this year.
 Gana commended the Governor for slashing the tuition and Hostel accommodation fees for the students of the college, approval for training and retraining of the staff, as well as providing of Serene environment for learning by Students.
She pledged the determination of the institution to work towards the actualisation of the Governor's vision in the education sector.
Esther Gana however appealed to the Governor to provide additional seats for the institution as the number of students has surged in recent times following the slashing of tuition fees by fifty per cent.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area. He remarked that the Seminary established in 1946 by the United Methodist Church agencies and donors has been manned by the church and has continued to fund the Seminary that has trained many clergy of the UMC, including him.
