Health: As the World commemorate Menstrual Cycle Day, Taraba First lady distributes sanitary pads to Young female students in Appawa.

Wife of Taraba State Governor Agyin Kefas has Distributed Sanitary pads to Female students of government Day Secondary School, Appawa to mark this year World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

The Governor's wife said Menstruation is a healthy and normal process that involves vaginal bleeding every month.

She said the distribution of the sanitary pads is to assist the female students used it during their monthly flows.

Agyin Agbu kefas urged female students to embrace personal hygiene.

In her presentation, the wife of the Majority leader of the Taraba State House of Assembly 
Justina Jethro said millions of women in the world menstruate every month, so monthly periods is part of women's life.

She said “period-friendly world,” which is the theme of this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day is apt as it will enlighten young females on how to take good care of themselves during their monthly flows.

She called on Doctors to actively engage in educating young ladies about menstrual health while the Education sector in the state, should extend to all healthcare staff to ensure a knowledgeable and supportive environment.

Earlier, the Principal of the Government Day Secondary School, GDSS Appawa, Shatu Joseph appreciated the governor's wife for the gesture and commended her for the continued support to provide and promote quality education in the state.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
