A Federal Commissioner representing Taraba State, Boboi Bala Kaigama, has expressed optimism that the recent political alignment of the state governor, Agbu Kefas, with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will strengthen collaboration with the Federal Government and attract more development projects to the state.
Kaigama made the remarks in an interview with journalists in Jalingo, where he described the governor’s decision to align with the ruling party as a positive political step capable of opening new opportunities for Taraba’s growth and development.
According to him, the governor’s move to the APC will help bring the presence of the Federal Government closer to the people of Taraba State, thereby creating a stronger partnership between the state and the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He noted that Taraba State has for years experienced a shortage of federal government projects and interventions compared to other states, expressing confidence that the new political alignment would help bridge the gap by attracting more infrastructural development and federal programmes.
The commissioner further stated that the improved relationship between the state government and the Federal Government could lead to increased federal presence in critical sectors such as roads, education, healthcare, and rural development.
Kaigama also assured that in his capacity as a Federal Commissioner representing Taraba State, he remains committed to ensuring that opportunities meant for the state—such as federal appointments, promotions, and the distribution of social amenities—are fairly allocated to the people of the state.
He therefore called on the people of Taraba State to support both President Tinubu and Governor Kefas, stressing that unity and cooperation between the people and their leaders would enable the state to benefit more from the dividends of democracy.
