Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State have been urged to turn out in large numbers to participate in the party’s ongoing membership registration exercise ahead of next year’s general elections.
The call was made by the Taraba State Chairman of the party, Obidah Bitrus, while speaking with journalists in Jalingo.
Bitrus said active participation in the registration process was necessary to consolidate the gains already recorded by the party and to lay a solid foundation for its future both in the state and across the country.
According to him, the party has already embarked on what he described as aggressive mobilization and sensitization campaigns across the nooks and crannies of Taraba State in order to ensure the success of the membership drive.
He called on PDP faithful across the state to be part of what he described as a success story, adding that the party remained committed to strengthening its position as a national platform capable of improving the welfare and fortunes of Nigerians.
The state chairman also assured members that the party structure in Taraba under his leadership remains intact, urging them to disregard any splinter groups allegedly attempting to create confusion within the party.
Bitrus further noted that the party was working diligently to restore its lost glory and deepen democracy, stressing that such efforts would help address widespread poverty, economic hardship, and other socio-economic challenges affecting many citizens.
He also prayed for unity, peace, stability, and progress in Taraba State and Nigeria at large, expressing optimism that the PDP would continue to play a key role in advancing the development of the state and the country.
