POLITICS: PDP Elders, Likeminds Forum Back Existing Party Leadership in Taraba.

The Elders Forum of the (PDP) and the Likeminds Forum in , , have reaffirmed their support for the existing leadership structure of the party in the state and rejected the recognition of any faction operating outside the established leadership.

The resolution followed a joint meeting of both forums held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Jalingo, where party elders and stakeholders deliberated on issues affecting the party in Taraba State.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the forum declared that it does not recognize any faction or group that operates contrary to the properly constituted leadership of the party in the state.

The meeting also reaffirmed recognition of the legally constituted leadership of the PDP from the ward level up to the State Working Committee.

The forum further called on members of the party across Taraba State to mobilize and participate actively in the ongoing electronic registration exercise of the party.

According to the communiqué, stakeholders were urged to facilitate and support the e-registration process in their respective wards and local government areas to strengthen the party’s membership base.

The joint forum also appealed to members of the party to remain calm while awaiting the decision of the Board of Trustees of the party on issues currently affecting the party.

The communiqué was jointly signed by the Chairman of the PDP Elders Forum, Hon. Chief John Mamman, and the Chairman of the Likeminds Forum, Hon. Dr. Hilkiah Bubajoda Mafindi.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

The leadership of the Jenjo Youth Wing has publicly distanced itself from alleged remarks credited to Mr. Magaji Bulus Gago, popularly known as Max B, against Taraba State Governor, , and the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, . INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
