MUMUYE: Call for Unity Dominates Mumuye Political Consultative Forum in Jalingo.

Stakeholders of the Mumuye ethnic nationality have called for renewed unity and collective action as a pathway to strengthening the political and socio-economic relevance of the group in Taraba State and beyond.

The call was made during a political consultative forum held at the Mumuye House in Mile Six, , where leaders, community representatives, and stakeholders gathered to deliberate on the future of the Mumuye nation.

Speaking at the gathering, the National President of the (MCDA), , described unity among the Mumuye people as the greatest strength that can sustain their relevance and influence.

Dogo, a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police, recalled with nostalgia the era when the Mumuye people spoke with one voice on issues affecting their collective interest. He expressed concern over what he described as growing divisions within the ethnic group, urging members to set aside differences and work toward a common purpose.

According to him, the Mumuye people possess the population strength, intellectual capacity, and leadership potential required to thrive in political, economic, and social spheres if they remain united.

“We have the capacity, the numbers, and the intellect to succeed in many fronts. What we need now is to come together again as one people so that the Mumuye nation can rise not as scattered individuals but as a united force,” he said.

Also speaking at the forum, the Speaker of the , , represented by , commended the renewed efforts by the Mumuye people to strengthen their unity.

He described the conversation around oneness and collective progress as a positive development capable of repositioning the Mumuye nation for greater influence and development.

Tokolon also praised the leadership of for what he described as the inclusive approach of his administration, noting that the governor has continued to carry the Mumuye people along in governance. He pledged continued support for the administration to ensure its success.

In her remarks, the Chairperson of , , applauded the leadership of the Mumuye Cultural Development Association for initiating the consultative forum.

She noted that the gathering had rekindled hope among the Mumuye people and created a platform for meaningful dialogue on unity and development.

Anthony urged community members to sustain the momentum, stressing that unity would pave the way for greater political participation, social harmony, and development across Mumuye communities.

Also speaking, the National Public Relations Officer of the MCDA, , expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the meeting, describing it as impressive and reflective of the strong interest among Mumuye sons and daughters in the future of their people.

He disclosed that participants at the forum made several contributions and suggestions aimed at strengthening unity and promoting the overall development of the Mumuye nation.

Iware assured that the association would carefully review and implement the resolutions reached during the consultation to ensure that the collective aspirations of the Mumuye people are realized.

The consultative forum, which attracted traditional leaders, political stakeholders, youths, and women groups, ended with a renewed commitment among participants to foster unity, strengthen cultural identity, and promote the development of the Mumuye nation.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention.
