The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Reverend Father Sunday Patrick Muke has called on Christians to embrace humility, faith and openness to God’s grace as they continue the Lenten season.
In a message to the faithful to mark the Fourth Sunday of Lent, Very Rev. Fr. Muke reflected on the Gospel reading from (John 9:1–41), which recounts the healing of a man born blind by .
According to the cleric, the biblical account demonstrates that Christ remains the true light of the world, capable of restoring not only physical sight but also spiritual understanding.
He explained that while the man who was healed eventually gained sight, those who believed they possessed knowledge remained spiritually blind, noting that genuine understanding comes through humility and faith.
Fr. Muke urged Christians to use the period of for self-examination and spiritual renewal, asking God to remove every form of blindness that prevents believers from walking in His light.
“As we continue our Lenten journey, we must allow Christ to enlighten our minds and transform our lives,” he stated.
The Special Adviser further encouraged believers to become instruments of hope, justice and compassion in their communities, stressing the need for citizens to work collectively toward peace and unity in and beyond.
He prayed that the light of Christ would continually guide the faithful in their daily lives.
