DEFECTION: Hon Haruna Kanawa Dumps APC Party for PDP.

Hon. Haruna Daniel Kanawa, has resigned his membership from the party and declared his alignment with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Kanawa announced his resignation in a letter made available to journalists, stating that the decision followed wide consultations with his political associates and constituents within Kunini Ward and beyond.

According to him, the move was guided by his personal political principles and the desire to pursue what he described as a “level playing field political trajectory.”

“I wish to formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress and align with the People’s Democratic Party after extensive consultations with my political allies and constituents,” he stated in the letter.

Kanawa, who also serves as Chief Protocol Officer to a former Executive Governor of Taraba State Reverend Dr Jolly T. Nyame, expressed appreciation to members of the APC in his ward.

Political observers in Taraba State say the defection may have implications for grassroots political dynamics in Lau Local Government Area, especially as political realignments continue to shape the state’s political landscape ahead of future electoral contests.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
