The Catholic Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, Charles Michael Hammawa, has described the late Pope Francis as a man of humility.
Bishop Hammawa gave the description in a homily delivered during the requiem Mass of the late Pope Francis at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral Shavon Mile Six Jalingo.
He noted that during Pope Francis' Pontificate, he urged all Bishops and Priests of the world to have the smell of their sheep.
The Bishop said Pope Francis preached peace and displayed great humility urging the congregation to emulate.
Pope Francis has graciously led the Catholic Church for fourteen years before his demise after a protracted illness.
His burial at Saint Peter's in Rome attracted presidents, clergy, and diplomats and was seen as a period of healing, mostly the strategic meeting held by US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky before the burial.
All eyes are now fixed on the conclave to elect a new Pope by the Cardinals.
