POLITICS: Taraba Special Adviser on Industrialization Resigns, Declares for 2027 Assembly Race.

The Special Adviser on Industrialization to the Governor of Taraba State, Hon. (Act.) Nicodemus Ali Ikizenden, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

In a resignation letter dated February 28, 2026, and addressed to the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, through the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ikizenden said his decision takes effect from the same date.

Titled “Resignation from the Office of Special Adviser on Industrialization,” the letter expressed gratitude to the Governor for the opportunity to serve in the administration.

“This decision has not been an easy one. It has been a rare privilege and honor to serve under your purposeful and visionary leadership,” he wrote, appreciating the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.

Hon. Ikizenden explained that his resignation is in line with his aspiration to further serve the people at the grassroots level. He disclosed his intention to contest for the position of Member, Taraba State House of Assembly, representing Donga Local Government Area in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

He noted that stepping aside from his current role was in keeping with constitutional provisions and ethical standards guiding public service.

The former Special Adviser also expressed deep appreciation for the support and cooperation he received during his tenure, pledging to continue upholding the ideals of good governance and remain committed to the progress and prosperity of Taraba State.

His resignation marks a significant political development in Donga Local Government Area as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
