Taraba State Police Command Elevates Inspectors to ASP, Charges Officers on Professionalism and Integrity.

The has decorated a number of newly promoted officers elevated from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) at a ceremony held in Jalingo, reaffirming its commitment to merit-based advancement and professional policing.

The decoration ceremony took place on Monday at the Police Officers’ Mess and was conducted by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Nandiyak Tissing, who represented the Commissioner of Police.


The event drew senior officers, colleagues, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the newly elevated officers.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, DCP Tissing described the promotion as a reward for dedication, discipline, and commitment to service. 

He stressed that the new rank comes with increased responsibility and charged the officers to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and exemplary leadership in their line of duty, in line with the reform vision of the under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, .

He further urged the promoted officers to uphold the core values of the Force, respect the rule of law, and remain steadfast in protecting lives and property while strengthening peace and security across Taraba State.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, ASP Seth Edom expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for approving the promotions. He assured that the officers would justify the confidence placed in them through renewed dedication, loyalty, and professional conduct in service to the public. 

The Command said the exercise underscores ongoing efforts to motivate personnel through structured career progression and continuous capacity development.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
