RELIGION:Bible Society of Nigeria Marks 60 Years, Rallies Christians, Government Support for Bible Distribution.

The (BSN) has marked its 60th anniversary with a call for stronger support toward Bible translation and distribution efforts across the country.

The anniversary celebration, held at the Bible House, Roadblock in Jalingo, drew government officials, religious leaders, and members of the Christian community, all of whom emphasized the need to intensify the propagation of the Gospel through coordinated support for BSN projects.

Representing Taraba State Governor, , the Special Adviser on Christian Religious Matters, Very Reverend Father Sunday Patrick Muke, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to partnering with faith-based organizations. He commended the Taraba State chapter of BSN for sustaining its mission over six decades and urged churches to rally behind the society’s ongoing Bible distribution initiatives.

Chairman of the occasion, Chief David Sabo Kente, who was represented by Mary Usman, praised BSN’s consistency and dedication in making the Bible available across communities nationwide. He noted that the organization’s 60-year journey reflects significant impact and remarkable achievements in spreading the scriptures.

Vice Chairman of the occasion and member representing Karim I Constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Abner Shittu, encouraged Christians to actively support BSN’s outreach programs. He applauded the leadership of the society for its sustained commitment to Gospel promotion.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Taraba State Revenue Service, retired General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, described the anniversary as both a milestone and a renewed call to action for believers to contribute to Bible distribution and evangelism efforts. He congratulated the organization and lauded local leaders for successfully hosting the commemorative event.

In her closing remarks, Chairperson of the Anniversary and Fundraising Committee, Mrs. Dorothy Jeremiah Faransa, urged Christians to cultivate the habit of using printed Bibles during church services rather than relying solely on mobile versions. She thanked participants for the strong turnout, describing it as a clear sign of collective commitment to the Gospel mission.

Highlights of the celebration included the presentation of awards to notable supporters of BSN and the church, including the Taraba State Chairman of the , Very Reverend Father Dr. Williams Awoshiri Peter, alongside other distinguished personalities. The event also featured the cutting of a specially designed anniversary cake bearing the BSN logo.
