Christians in Taraba State have been urged to live as positive examples in society by promoting peace, justice and reconciliation in their daily lives.
The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, made the call in his Sunday message while reflecting on the Gospel of Matthew 5:13–16, which describes believers as “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world.”
Fr. Muke said the biblical imagery highlights the responsibility of Christians to add value to society and inspire hope through their conduct and character. He noted that believers are expected to reflect God’s goodness in their homes, workplaces, communities and areas of public service.
According to him, standing out as Christians should not be through conflict or self-promotion, but through integrity, love, humility and good works that strengthen unity and preserve peace.
He emphasized that people of faith in Taraba State have a vital role to play in fostering harmony and moral responsibility across the state and the nation at large.
The cleric encouraged Christians to ensure that their words and actions consistently reflect the light of Christ, while praying for divine grace to remain steadfast in their calling.
