The has released the 2025/2026 academic calendar for the Nigerian Law School’s Bar Part II programme, setting the tone for a demanding academic year for prospective legal practitioners across the country.
The calendar, signed by the newly appointed Director-General of the , , outlines key activities and timelines for the session.
According to the schedule, registration and induction for successful candidates will commence on Monday, March 2, 2026, while lectures are slated to begin on Monday, March 16, 2026.
The externship programme — a core practical component of the Bar Part II training — will run from May 18 to August 7, 2026, providing students with hands-on legal experience in courts and law firms nationwide.
The highly anticipated Bar Final Examinations have been fixed for October 31 to November 7, 2026, marking the culmination of the academic session.
The announcement represents one of the first major official actions under Dr. Odusote’s leadership since assuming office as Director-General. However, the date for the Call to the Bar ceremony, where successful candidates will be formally admitted into the legal profession, is yet to be announced.
Stakeholders have urged prospective candidates and Bar aspirants to take note of the timelines and prepare accordingly.
