Infrastructure: Senator Umahi Drives Taraba Road Revolution, Flags Momentum on Key Federal Highway Projects.

Officials of the Federal Ministry of Works and representatives of Sardauna Local Government Area have conducted a national media tour of ongoing road projects in Taraba State, highlighting progress on the Gembu–Mbamnga–Lip (Yang) Road being constructed by SKECC Nigeria Limited.
During the inspection visit, engineers and project managers guided journalists through various sections of the road corridor, explaining the scope of work and the construction methods being applied.
The project, which is part of the Federal Government’s infrastructure renewal drive, is expected to improve connectivity among mountain communities, boost agricultural transportation, and enhance cross-border trade activities in the area.
Addressing members of the press, the Minister of Works Sen.Engr David Enweze Umahi Represented by the Federal Controller of Works in Taraba State, Engr. Ibrahim Usman, also gave an update on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Bali–Sirte (Gashaka)–Gembu Road being handled by SCC Nigeria Limited. He said the intervention covers critical failed sections, drainage structures, and pavement strengthening to ensure durability and safer travel for road users.
The Minister noted that both projects fall under the Federal Government’s strategic plan to upgrade key transport routes across the North-East and Middle Belt regions. He stressed that quality control and adherence to specifications remain top priorities, adding that regular supervision is being carried out to ensure timely delivery.
He said reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to completing priority road projects nationwide to stimulate economic growth and improve mobility.
