No fewer than 1,500 staff of the Taraba State Primary Health Care Development Agency have been successfully vetted and cleared for promotion, in a move described as a boost to workers’ morale and service delivery in the state’s health sector.
The promotion screening exercise, held in Jalingo, was supervised by the Chairman of the Agency’s Governing Board, Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, who commended Governor Agbu Kefas for prioritising workers’ welfare through regular and prompt payment of salaries.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Tukura Nuhu Nyigwa, lauded the governor for approving the appointment of 450 GAVI-supported staff into the system. He noted that the gesture underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving staff welfare.
Dr. Nyigwa, however, emphasised that promotions would strictly follow due process, stressing that only workers who met the established criteria would benefit from the exercise. He urged employees to remain committed to duty, punctual, and diligent in service.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union, TSPHCDA chapter, Mr. Bala Isaac, praised the Executive Secretary for sustaining what he described as a robust welfare package for staff, assuring management of continued cooperation from the workforce.
