The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, , has called on Christians to embrace sincere righteousness, truth, and reconciliation as central pillars of their daily lives. The cleric made the call in a spiritual message to believers ahead of Sunday worship.
In the message, the Reverend Father reflected on the teaching from chapter 5 verses 17 to 37, noting that Christ’s message centers on fulfilling divine law through inner transformation rather than mere outward religious practices. He explained that the passage challenges believers to pursue purity of heart and integrity in both thought and action.
He emphasized that Jesus Christ’s teaching goes beyond ceremonial observance and focuses on moral renewal, urging Christians to live truthfully and avoid compromise in their dealings. According to him, believers must demonstrate honesty in speech and conduct, allowing their commitments and promises to remain dependable.
The cleric stressed that genuine righteousness is rooted in love for God and humanity, adding that a transformed heart naturally produces mercy, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence with others. He encouraged worshippers to make reconciliation a priority in their relationships and communities.
Very Rev. Fr. Muke noted that living by Gospel values would strengthen social harmony and ethical standards, especially at a time when truth and moral discipline are under pressure. He urged Christians to be shining examples of uprightness in both public and private life.
He prayed for divine grace upon the faithful to walk in holiness, uphold truth, and contribute to peace and unity across Taraba State and beyond.
