The Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria (CSON), Taraba State Chapter, has lauded the Commander of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, for what it described as exemplary leadership and significant improvement in the security situation across Taraba State.
The commendation was given on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, when members of the organisation paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army in Jalingo. The delegation was led by the State Chairman, Dr Joseph Gimba, who said the visit was to appreciate the sustained efforts of the Brigade Commander in restoring and maintaining peace in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the organisation, Dr Gimba noted that the prevailing peace and improved security currently enjoyed by residents of Taraba State could largely be attributed to Brigadier General Uwa’s gallant leadership, strategic initiatives and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property. He added that the Commander’s inclusive leadership style, proactive operational approach and strong civil–military relations had contributed significantly to the reduction of criminal activities and enhanced public confidence in the state’s security architecture.
In recognition of these achievements, the Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria, Taraba State Chapter, presented Brigadier General Uwa with an Award of Excellence in Service and Leadership, citing his courage, professionalism and outstanding contribution to the improved security landscape of the state.
Responding, Brigadier General Uwa expressed gratitude to the organisation for the honour, describing the award as a reflection of the collective efforts, sacrifices and professionalism of officers and soldiers of 6 Brigade. He reaffirmed the commitment of troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke to remain resolute in safeguarding lives and property.
The Commander further assured that the Brigade would continue to work closely with civil society organisations, traditional institutions and other relevant stakeholders to consolidate peace and ensure lasting security and stability across Taraba State.
