The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has called on Christians to emulate the example of the grateful leper in the Bible by living lives of gratitude and faith.
In his Sunday reflection drawn from Luke 17:11–19, Fr. Muke recalled the story of the ten lepers healed by Jesus, noting that only one—a Samaritan—returned to thank Him. He said the passage teaches two key virtues every believer must embrace: thankfulness and faith.
According to him, although ten lepers were healed, only the one who returned to express gratitude was made whole, showing that “gratitude strengthens faith and opens the heart to more of God’s blessings.”
Fr. Muke urged Christians to begin the new week with hearts full of thanksgiving, recognizing God’s goodness in their lives and responding with praise.
He prayed that the spirit of gratitude would bring believers closer to Christ, who alone makes them whole, while wishing all faithful a blessed Sunday and a fruitful week ahead.
