ENVIRONMENT:Fr. Muke Commends Amrich Green World’s 6,000 Tree Planting Campaign, Urges Collective Action for Environmental Protection.
By our correspondent.
The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has applauded the Amrich Green World initiative for launching a 6,000 Tree Planting Campaign aimed at combating deforestation and promoting environmental sustainability in the state.
Fr. Muke gave the commendation during the official flag-off ceremony of the campaign held at the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary, Jauro Yinu, on Friday.
Describing the initiative as “a noble effort that reflects genuine concern for the environment,” he noted that caring for creation is not just an ecological responsibility but also a divine mandate.
> “This noble effort shows true care for the environment, reminding us that protecting creation is a duty from God,” Fr. Muke said. “I commend Amrich Green World and all involved for promoting a greener, healthier future.”
The Special Adviser called on other institutions, parishes, faith-based organizations, communities, and government agencies, particularly the Ministry of Environment, to emulate the gesture and work collectively to promote environmental stewardship.
He emphasized that tree planting and environmental care should be seen as a shared mission of faith, love, and responsibility, especially in the face of global climate challenges.
Fr. Muke expressed optimism that the 6,000-tree campaign would not only improve the state’s greenery but also help mitigate the effects of climate change, promote cleaner air, and preserve biodiversity for future generations.
The Amrich Green World initiative, which targets planting 6,000 trees across strategic locations in Taraba State, aims to engage schools, religious institutions, and community groups in sustainable environmental practices.
