The Nigerian Army Medical Corps has decorated four senior officers with the rank of Colonel and one officer with the rank of Major during a brief but colorful ceremony held at the Corps Headquarters, Bonny Cantonment, Lagos.
The event, which took place in the conference room of the Headquarters, was presided over by the Acting Commander Corps of Medical, Brigadier General S. O. Okoigi.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Okoigi congratulated the newly promoted officers, describing their elevation as a reward for hard work, dedication, and professionalism. He charged them to see their promotion as a call to greater responsibility and renewed commitment to duty.
“Promotion in the Nigerian Army comes as a result of hard work and discipline,” he said. “I urge you to remain steadfast, focused, and exemplary, both in your professional conduct and personal life, as this elevation must reflect in all you do.”
Capt. Adachukwu Onyinyechukwu Okwuka, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists.
Those decorated include Colonel O. Emadia, Colonel A. S. Ogunsakin, Colonel A. T. Odey, Colonel I. B. Suleiman, and Major O. I. Onu.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Colonel O. Emadia expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff and the Commander Corps of Medical for their leadership and mentorship. He pledged the commitment of the officers to continue serving the Nigerian Army and the nation with renewed zeal and professionalism.
The ceremony was graced by the Commander 81 Division Garrison, Directors of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps, senior officers, family members, friends, and well-wishers. It ended with a group photograph and light refreshments.
