The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State on Saturday staged a major show of strength in Lau Local Government Area as State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, led members of the State Executive Committee (EXCO) to a grand town hall meeting with stakeholders.
The event, was attended by chairmanship aspirant Hon. Steve Innocent Solomon and his campaign team, drawing traditional rulers, women’s groups, youth leaders, political stakeholders, and party faithful from across the LGA.
According to party officials, the gathering was aimed at deepening unity within the PDP, rallying grassroots support, and refining strategies ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
Addressing the meeting, Alhaji Bawa commended the warm reception from the people of Lau and urged members to remain united, emphasizing that internal cohesion was key to sustaining the PDP’s dominance in Taraba politics.
Hon. Solomon, in his remarks, pledged an inclusive leadership style if elected council chairman, vowing to ensure that every community benefits from responsive governance and targeted development projects.
Several dignitaries, including traditional leaders and community heads, praised the initiative, describing it as a step toward reinforcing the party’s bond with the grassroots.
The turnout and enthusiasm at the event underscored both the PDP’s organizational capacity and the growing momentum behind Hon. Solomon’s bid, setting the stage for a competitive local government race.
