INTL YOUTHS DAY:YOWICAN North East Chairman Urges Christian Youths to Embrace Peace, Self-Reliance at National Youth Day Celebration.
The Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), North East Zone, Evangelist Jesse Ephesian JP, has called on Christian youths across the region to serve as peace ambassadors, embrace self-reliance, and actively support policies that promote community development.
Delivering his message during the National Youth Day celebration, Ephesian stressed the need for young Christians to promote understanding, tolerance, and love among people of different backgrounds and faiths. He urged them to avoid negative criticism and instead build bridges of friendship and cooperation.
Highlighting the importance of personal growth, he encouraged youths to develop skills, acquire knowledge, and become productive members of society. He also advised them to choose their associations wisely, noting that “the company we keep can either inspire or hinder our progress.”
Ephesian commended the Governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe states for their commitment to inclusive governance, which he said has created an environment for youths to thrive.
As part of the celebration, the YOWICAN chairman announced that the North East Zone would host a mega convention in Taraba State from November 6 to 9, 2025. The event will bring together Christian youths from across the zone for knowledge-sharing, networking, and spiritual growth. He appealed to state governors to support the participation of their youths in the convention.
Ephesian urged stakeholders to invest in the development of young people, saying they are “the leaders of tomorrow” and must be empowered to become agents of positive change in society.
